Chicken Biryani

Kashish Basmati Rice (x 1 Cup)
Kashish Sunflower/Canola Oil (x 2 tbsp)
Medium sized Sliced Onion (x 1)
Green Chilli (as per taste)
Salt (as per taste)
Ginger Garlic paste (x 1 tbsp)
Chicken Breast or Thigh (250g)
Biryani Masala (as per taste)
Finely Chopped Coriander
Medium sized sliced tomato (x 2)
Yoghurt (1/2 Cup)

Step 1

Add one cup of Kashish Basmati rice to a bowl, cover it with water and soak it for about 30 minutes (follow the detailed washing methods for the rice behind the pack!) Make sure to be gentle with handling of the rice grains!

Step 2

Drain and rinse it with cold water till it is clear

Step 3

Add 2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice in a cooking pan/pot/rice cooker.

Step 4

Bring it to the boil and simmer it for around 10-15 minutes. Remove the lid and leave it to stand for around 5 minutes.

Step 5

Lightly, fork through the cooked rice grains and use as below.

Step 6

Take a non-stick pan and put Kashish cooking oil in it.

Step 7

Add sliced onions and saute it for 10-12 minutes on medium heat.

Step 8

Add ginger garlic paste and stir it for 2 minutes on low heat.

Step 9

Add the chicken pieces and fry it for 2-3 minutes on high heat.

Step 10

Add Biryani masala and give it a good mix.

Step 11

After this, put on chopped tomatoes and yogurt/curd. Mix it well.

Step 12

Cook it for 5 minutes and add salt, chopped coriander, green chilli and mix it well.

Now cook it for about 5 minutes.

Step 1

Take other non-stick pan and put Kashish basmati rice in it.

Step 1

Add the chicken mixture made on top of some rice. Now add some rice again (to make essentially layers of Rice and Chicken!)

Cook on low flame for few minutes.

Step 1

Give it a good mix and chicken biryani is ready to serve! Make sure to serve it with Raita (Yoghurt with coriander).
