Daal Ke Kebab

INGREDIENTS
1/2 Cup Kashish Yellow split Moong daal
1/2 Cup Kashish Whole Green Moong deal
1 Cup Yellow Chana daal
Salt, turmeric powder, Red chilli powder
1 Cup Mashed boiled potatoes
1 TSP finely chopped green chillies
1 TSP finely chopped ginger
1 TSP Fennel seeds
1/2 TSP cumin seeds
1/2 TSP dry mango powder
1/2 cup Hung curd
1/2 cup finely copped onions
1 TBSP finely chopped mint leaves.
1 cup bread crumbs
Oil for frying.
1 TBSP Ghee
1/2 TSP asafoetida
1/4 cup cashews roasted in ghee
DIRECTIONS

Step 1

Wash all the daals and soak it for 5-6 hours.

Step 2

Heat a pan, Add 1 litre water to it & let it boil.

Step 3

Add 1 TSP salt and 1/2 TSP turmeric powder into the boiling water.

Step 4

Now add soaked daal into the water and cook until the daal is soft and mushy.

Step 5

Drain the excess water and let the daal cool.

Step 6

Heat another pan

Step 7

Add 1 TBSP of Ghee

Step 8

Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, fennel seeds,ginger, green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder.

Step 9

Saute for about 1-2 minutes

Step 10

Add daal mixture and cook it for about 10-12 minutes.

Step 11

Add Salt in the daal mixture.

Step 12

Roughly mash the cooked daal mixture.

Step 13

Take a bowl, add the coarse daal mixture .

Step 14

Add boiled mashed potatoes into the bowl

Step 15

Add 1/2 TSP dry mango powder & freshly chopped mint leaves.

Step 16

Mix everything together & Kebab dough is ready .

Step 17

To prepare kebab filling, take another bowl.

Step 18

Add Hung curd into the bowl.

Step 19

Add chopped onion, mint leaves, salt and chopped roasted cashews.

Step 20

Give it a quick stir.

Step 21

Now take a little portion of kebab mixture, roll it into round ball. Create a depression at the centre of ball and fill it with kebab filling. Again roll it into smooth flatten patty.

Step 22

Coat the kebab patty with bread crumbs .

Step 23

Finally you can either deep fry or shallow fry the Kebabs & are ready to serve.
