Moong Daal Halwa

INGREDIENTS
Moong Dal(without skin) - 1 cup
Ghee - 1 cup
Semolina/Sooji - 1 tbsp
Gram flour/Besan - 1 tbsp
Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Saffron - few strands
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Pista chopped - 1 TBSP
Almonds chopped - 1 TBSP
Cashew nuts chopped - 1 TBSP
DIRECTIONS

Step 1

Wash and soak moong dal for 4-6 hours. Drain the water. Add dal into the grinder and grind it into a smooth paste. Heat a pan, add ghee .

Step 2

Heat a pan, add ghee .

Step 3

Add semolina & gram flour. Cook on low heat until golden brown.

Step 4

Add Moong dal paste into the pan.

Step 5

Cook the dal on low heat until the mixture turns slightly brown.

Step 6

In another pan add water, sugar, saffron, and cardamom powder. Let it boil until sugar is dissolved & keep it aside.

Step 7

Once the dal is evenly brown add the Sugar syrup into the dal and gently mix it until all syrup is soaked by dal.

Step 8

Now add finely chopped dry fruits of your choice & serve hot.
